NAC Meeting of the ISPD Pre-Course
The first day of the NAC meeting - Thursday, August 27th - will consist of a “pre-course” on fundamentals of peritoneal dialysis. Perfect for the novice - or the experienced practitioner desiring a review - this course will address the following areas:
-Physiology of PD
-Creating and Adjusting the PD Prescription
-Placement of the PD Catheter and Solving Catheter-related Problems
-Preventing and Managing Infectious Complications of PD
-Non-Infectious Complications of PD
-Metabolic Issues in the PD Patient
The session will then close with discussion of optimal patient training techniques followed by a “hands on” demonstration of PD equipment.
NAC Meeting of the ISPD
An informative and thoughtful scientific program has been designed for the 2009 program, and we would be pleased by your attendance! Thursday, August 27 will consist of a one day pre-course on fundamentals of peritoneal dialysis which will feature a number of world renowned speakers. The main body of the conference - which will focus on "Expanding the Role of Peritoneal Dialysis" - begins the following day. We are very pleased that Dr. Raymond Krediet has accepted our offer of the Zellerman Lecture and will give a talk on the transport properties of the peritoneal membrane in the long-term PD patient. We are also excited to announce that Dr. Robert Schrier will speak on Physiology of the Cardiorenal Syndrome.
