RMA’s, Warranties, and Recalls:  Legal  Issues
    when the Chips Don’t Work

A number of chip companies have faced litigation over large scale chip failures. Other times, customers blame chips for the technical problems they have with their applications. By examining what can happen when matters like these end up in dispute, chip companies can improve their internal decisionmaking so that litigation risks can be mitigated or even avoided.

In this two hour seminar, we will discuss a variety of topics including:

Purchase orders and purchase confirmations:  “the battle of the forms”
The legal significance of the data sheet
How your RMA process, engineering process, and internal communications can be used as proof of fraud against your company
What to do when RMAs reach a large scale
What in-house counsel can do to manage litigation – or avoid it in the first place
Insurance coverage for chip failure claims – notice issues, “property damage,” and chip “recalls”
